The subjects of Climate Change and Global Warming are very close to everyone's hot button. When an acolyte of the faith hears a criticism of the dogma or one of the trigger words "climate" or "warming," he or she is likely to blow a gasket. Whether old or young, smart or dumb, the defender of the faith launches into a tirade. "You can't challenge Climate Change and Global Warming. The science is settled. The oceans are going to boil. We are all going to die."

How did this come about? How did a couple hundred million normal people get converted into zealots, believing in the doctrine of CO2 Warming Greenhouses Arctic melting death? I don't know.
