Sun Cycles Variations
For the "Sunspot Count", there are two different counting schemes in use: the ISSN and the NOAA Count. The ISSN is generally about 25% lower than the NOAA Count. Most researchers are now using the ISSN rather than the NOAA "Boulder Number" for making long term profiles and correlations with other data. Theoretically the numbers are interchangeable, but the goal is to compose a consistent count for the past 12,600 years. With a consistent "series" which are accepted in many scientific fields, scientists will be able to correlate the basic cycles of life on the Earth with the rise and fall of the various Solar Cycles.
